A Quick Stop in St George UT | Pioneer Park

ST. GEORGE, UTAH

St. George is the gateway to Utah for us Californians.  With Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and many other parks in such close proximity, it is a great place to stop for the night on your drive from Los Angeles if you don't want to deal with the craziness of Las Vegas.  But in its own right, St. George offers plenty to do.

PIONEER PARK | ST. GEORGE, UT

Our recent visit to St. George was not planned (on the way back from Page) but we made the best of it and with the advice of the hotel receptionist, found Pioneer Park.  The park overlooks the city and offers a mini-version of most of what you find in Utah.  There are plenty of red rock formations, including a mini-slot canyon, multiple arches and plenty of opportunities to try out your bouldering and scrambling.  It is also the perfect place to catch a sunset.  Best of all - it's free!  If you make it through St. George, make sure to pay Pioneer Park a visit before grabbing dinner at Cracker Barrel (one of my favorites for Sunday dinner).
