Photography at Leo Carrillo Beach

LEO CARRILLO STATE PARK | MALIBU, CALIFORNIA

On Memorial Day, I headed out to Malibu to take a look at the American flags that were setup on the Pepperdine that I kept seeing on Instagram. However, when I got there, there were no flags. Apparently, people were using old photographs from July 4th of past years to celebrate this year's Memorial Day. I will have to put a reminder on my calendar to make it back out in a month or so once they actually do put them up. Not to have wasted a trip, Leo Carrillo became the new destination for some beach shots. Having recently picked up a new neutral density filter, I gave some long exposure shots of the water crashing on the rocks a try, which made a cool effect. I even included a random surfer that was headed out to catch some waves.
